The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has announced major amendments to the visa regulations for the pilgrimage of Umrah, set to take effect next week. These changes reflect both growing pilgrimage numbers and the Kingdom’s broader push to streamline and digitise pilgrim
Validity of entry visas shortened
Starting soon, Umrah-specific entry visas will be valid for only one month from issuance — down from the previous three-month window.
Unused visas will be automatically cancelled if the holder does not enter the Kingdom within 30 days.
Stay period unchanged
While the entry window is reduced, once a pilgrim arrives the permitted stay period post-entry remains at up to three months.
